Okay, I couldn’t resist a nod to the late, great Tina Turner, as I sat down to reflect on this ambiguous and often overlooked topic.

Many years ago, a colleague of mine quoted Peter Drucker’s view of culture, “Culture eats strategy for breakfast.” Now, after working with hundreds of different companies, I appreciate culture (and Drucker’s observation on its voracity) more than ever.

A thriving organizational culture can be an important catalyst that helps propel a startup company towards sustained growth and success. Your company’s culture is a blend of shared values, beliefs, and practices. It influences how employees interact with each other and with stakeholders, shaping the essence of the organization.

Welcome to May! I hope that you are enjoying this incredible time of year filled with birds nesting, flowers blooming, and graduation parties galore. In addition to having high hopes for my garden, I’ve also sprouted something else — a new way to support your HR needs.

However, this program is not for everyone. If you are a larger organization with HR figured out and a trained team that is passionate about HR and wakes up every day focused on attracting, retaining, and developing your people, there is no need to read any further. You can get back to planting flowers or getting the BBQ ready for a summer of grilling.
