About the Opportunity
The Research Scientist III works independently and as part of a team in a lab environment to complete the development of ELISA, EIA, detection assay kits, and client-driven projects as well as assisting with Quality Control and Manufacturing activities. This is a senior-level scientist position and this individual will be thought of as a leader in the company.

The job responsibilities include

  • Research, develop and transfer new assays through Proof of Concept (ex: immunoassay, activity, detection etc) and characterize/improve other assay products using standard biochemistry and immunology techniques.
  • Design and create conjugated small molecule analytes for use in antibody and assay development.
  • Establish and lead Key Opinion Leader (KOL) relationships in industry and academia
  • Maintain a working knowledge of advancements in the RUO and IVD industry for biomarker testing and related fields.
  • Work directly with Sales and Marketing to educate Arbor Assays’ network of distributors including preparing for and presenting on current and new products.
  • Advise Scientist I and Scientists II roles to help optimize and monitor product stability.
  • Maintain accurate, legible, up-to-date lab notebooks, SOPs, protocols, and create manufacturing and marketing scientific documentation efficiently.

About You
The ideal candidate for this role has

  • Master's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related discipline is required, PhD in related fields is preferred.
  • Experience with general organic chemistry research techniques to include chemical conjugation chemistry to small molecules, immunogen design, and antibody development.
  • Experience in developing ELISA, EIA, Detection assay development projects.
  • Direct experience with conjugation chemistry.
  • Strong knowledge of sound experimental design.
  • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time for international and domestic trips as necessary.
  • Detail-oriented and highly responsible with excellent organizational and communication skills.
