blueflite designs and manufactures high performance, electric, unmanned, aerial tilt-rotor vehicles for the delivery of light cargo. Our UAV platform is scalable and has unique and patent-pending design characteristics resulting in advanced capability regarding maneuverability and vehicle control. blueflite has experience in carbon fiber structure design and manufacturing, design of propulsion systems, developing advanced flight control algorithm, implementation of code in on-board computer systems, and developing a digital ground infrastructure.

We are searching for team members to support the development of flight control algorithms and implementation of code in on-board computer systems. About the Role

As Commercial manager, you will be directly reporting to blueflite’s CEO. Your tasks will be managing the commercial pipeline; this includes answering any enquiries, following up on bids or tenders, preparing proposals, driving the discussion with potential customers, and interacting with existing customers and exploring commercial potential with existing accounts. Given the nature of this emerging industry, this requires business acumen, the ability to think creatively and in innovative ways, and being able to lead and drive discussions with customers and potential partners. You will prepare pitch documents, presentations, and quotes, and be responsible for the development for marketing and branding material used in customer pitches. It will also be expected that you represent blueflite at international conferences and events, and be comfortable in presenting blueflite’s product to senior management at private but also public organizations. This role receives minimal direction.

Main Areas of Responsibility

Managing the sales pipeline

  • Dealing with incoming sales enquiries

  • Answering these enquirers and engaging with customer

  • Identification of potential customers

  • Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings

  • Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities

  • Finding and developing new markets and improving sales

  • Developing quotes and proposals for clients

Reporting

  • Sales and business development reporting

  • Interaction with CEO and progress reporting

  • Developing goals for the development team and business growth and ensuring they are met

Marketing

  • Reach out, marketing and branding initiatives

  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives

Sales

  • Preparation of sales and pitch material

  • Developing sales concepts and frameworks, and their implementation

  • Service framework development

Account Management

  • Customer PoC and project oversight

  • Increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones

Other

  • Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills

  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events

About You

  • Graduate degree in business or engineering, preferred

  • Several years of experience working in consulting or in a sales/business development role

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams

  • Experience working in small agile teams

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Great attitude and communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • A multitasker who can wear many hats

  • Strong sales skills

  • IT fluency

  • Ability to manage complex projects

  • Required vaccination against COVID-19
